Protecting the Philippine Mediamen

Philippines is ranked the second deadliest country in the world for journalists.

The Committee to Protect Journalists says in it’s website CPJ.Org,  most of the journalists killed covered politics or corruption. At least 76 journalists have been killed for their work in the Philippines since 1992, when CPJ began keeping detailed records of journalist fatalities.

MEDIA KILLINGS PHILS 2ND 2014With these very high statistics of media killings, most of the Philippine mediamen have decided to engage themselves in shooting sports – either precision target shooting, practical shooting and tactical shooting.

The last participation of mediamen in shooting sports event was the Philippine Air Force – Media Shoot in PAF Firing Range, Villamor Air Base, Pasay on March 26, 2014
