Yes that’s right, the technique of learning cycling for the first time with NBO is proven to be very effective as I observed during my visit at their location in Bonifacio Global City.
Just follow and listen carefully to the instructions and violah, you can learn cycling in 1-2 hours as far as I know. You can try learning it in less than 1-hour and please inform me so that I can edit this and feature your record.
NBO Organizer/Owner Benedict ‘Bene’ Camara told me it’s their advocacy and passion to teach everyone how to bike and let them show to everyone that cycling can be learned the easiest and safest with NBO Bike Lessons.

Let’s admit we have a cancerous problem of transportation in the Philippines. Yes we have several solutions in mind but ineffective in actual implementation and the horrendous traffic getting worst everyday. What could be the real problem here? The traffic schemes! Transportation officials? Or we ourselves are the REAL problem? Well yes, most of the citizens lack discipline with regards to road and traffic regulations
Whether you drive your own car or take public utility vehicles, we all have the same problem along the road – heavy traffic, poor road conditions, obstructions etc.
Solutions like clearing operations of road and sidewalk obstructions can ease up heavy traffic problems but still we keep facing the problem.
In my opinion, it’s about time to campaign the use of bicycles for daily commute.
That’s why I also started my bike to work, cycling sports and campaigning for the security, safety and welfare of cyclists and bikers. Let’s support the proposed measures for cycling to strengthen the advocacy of cycling to solve transportation problems. Kudos to Senator Pia Cayetano and Miguel Zubiri
Just recently I joined the World Car Free Day riding my ‘Bruce’ the Giant ATX2 Mountain Bike.
Practical Shooting Sports is now gaining popularity and caught the attention of media practitioners in the Philippines.
This is the very reason why the Practical Shooting Association of the Philippines (PPSA) created the PPSA Media Bureau.
PPSA Media Bureau Shooting Team is now actively participating practical Shooting events in the country to encourage fellow journalists to engage in practical Shooting events not only as sports but for self-defense against any threat.
Any media practitioner (radio, tv, print, social media) can join the PPSA Media Bureau and the starting point is learn first the basics of gun safety, be a responsible gun owner and how to use it for sports and protection.
The first nationwide media Shootfest has been launched last year 2018 and I hope this will continue this year – 2019. Thanks to the unconditional leadership of PPSA VP for Media Raoul Esperas.
See you all at the range brothers in Philippine Media. “Don’t be the next victim, Shoot Back!”
The Nationwide Media Fun Shoot was being initiated by the Presidential Task Force on Media Security, Philippine Practical Shooting Association Media Bureau, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas and National Press Club to awaken the awareness of practicing mediamen in the Philippines against possible threats, considering that many journalists have been killed ‘in the line of duty’ during the previous years.
Based on the Annual Kill Report of International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), the Asia Pacific Region had the most reporters killed in 2017, with a total of 26 journalists from at least a total of 81 reporters, 93 journalists killed while doing their job in 2016, and a total of 146 media practitioners have been killed from 1990-2015.
IFJ reported that the ‘Philippines is the worst offender within the SouthEast Asia, tying for 6th worst in the world with Pakistan’.
The Strait Times Singapore, listed Philippines as the 5th Most Dangerous place for media practitioners based on the latest press freedom report of the Committee to Protect Journalists.
With these alarming numbers of media killings in the Philippines, I fully support PPSA Media Bureau advocate to strongly encourage local journalists to arm themselves for protection and promote practical shooting sports in the country.
The Nationwide Media Fun Shoot was simultaneously took place in 3 different locations – QCPD Firing Range at Camp Karingal, QC for Luzon; Cebu Talisay Aqua Gun Club for Visayas; and Armscor Range for Mindanao.
During the Nationwide Media Fun Shoot, then Presidential Peace Adviser Jesus Dureza told journalists “if you want to be boldly truthful to write or broadcast. You must also be ready to protect yourself.”
This is an invitation to all journalists in the Philippines to join the First Nationwide Media Funshoot on October 20, 2018.
We cannot deny the fact that many journalists have been killed in the line of their duties and the worst ever recorded in the Philippine history was the massacre of 32 mediamen in Maguindanao on November 23, 2009.
Media killings have been prevalent in the following years and in 2017, the Philippines ranked 5th in the Global Impunity Index of New York-based watchdog Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).
Since 2007, the number of journalists killed in the line of their work have reached 42 on CPJ report and the Philippines is among the 13 countries in the 2017 index.
Due to alarming number of media killings in the Philippines, many local journalists armed themselves for self-defense and protection of their families while others chose to engage in practical shooting events to experience the action-packed adrenalin rush of different shooting scenarios.
We, in the Philippine (PPSA) Media Bureau Team believe we can reduce if not totally stop the media killings.
In this regard, to keep the security awareness among Philippine journalists, the Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA), PPSA Media Bureau, Presidential Task Force on Media Security, National Press Club, KBP-accredited Media Networks and Arms Corporation (Armscor) have forged a historical one-day and Nationwide shooting event in 3 locations: QCPD Firing Range, Camp Karingal, Quezon City; Cebu Firing Range and Armscor Shooting Ranges, Davao City.
Teaching kids how to handle and shoot guns properly and responsibly is my highest recommendation to all. In fact, I strongly suggest that every member of a family should learn the proper handling and shooting guns for home defense, self-protection and SPORTS!
I know there are people out there who are against using guns for protection or home defense and they disagree on any suggestion that we should teach kids how to shoot guns, because it’s dangerous and guns could be misused to commit crimes.
But we should realize the fact that people can commit crimes with or without guns, because it is the intent of a criminal to kill people. “Guns don’t kill people, but those people mishandling and misusing guns do!”
Well, it is not my intention to convince everyone to support my pro-gun stance but I assure everyone my full respect if you are against using guns because we are living in a free world and we are entitled to our own opinions.
Now if you agree with me, thank you and I strongly recommend that we have to teach the kids the proper way of using guns to save lives and for shooting sports.

ICARUS IV! One of the highlights of practical shooting events in the Philippines in 2018. This is the first time, the Philippine Media Shooters (PPSA Media Bureau) Team, joined an international shooting event, the Icarus IV Shooting Competition, PPSA Sanctioned Level 3 Match with 18 stages at Magnus Front Sight Shooting Ranges, Lipa City, Batangas.
It was a 5-day shooting event among professional and competitive shooters and it was a great privileged we had 2-days to participate in the shooting competition.
The following are the PPSA Media Shooters who joined the Icarus IV International Shooting Event in respective shooting divisions:
Standard Division: Raoul Esperas (DWIZ), Angelo Almonte (DZRJ), Dindo Amparo (ABS-CBN), Rey Sibayan (DZRH)
Production Division: Eric Dastas (DZMM), Angel Movido (ABS-CBN), Dominic Luigi Natividad (News 5), Ermelino Toto Parina (ABS-CBN) and Oliver Joya (ABS-CBN).
Special thanks to our sponsors Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) headed by Mr. Edwin Lim and Mr. Joseph Li of Icarus Shirts.
Watch the adrenaline rush of shooting action in the competition.
Practical shooting is for all, but you need to invest your time and money for this sports. You need first your pistol at any caliber you like and can afford plus the ammunition both for target practice and main shooting events.
I strongly recommend acquiring any of these calibers (9MM, Cal. 40, 45ACP) and whatever brand you like most Glock, Armscor, Rock Island Armory, CZ, Jericho, XDs/XDm (I usually see these pistol brands in practicalk shooting events.)
Unlike the Pros (Competitive Shooters) who regularly visit the range for shooting practice, Most media shooters (like me) can only practice if there’s availability of ammunitions and most of the time, we just do some dry fire exercises before joining any official shooting event.
Come what may, I always invite every media practitioner to engage in practical shooting for sports and self-defense (protection).
Take note the surveys and researches being conducted that mediamen in the Philippines are always at risk in the performance of journalism profession.
You can join the PPSA Media Bureau under the supervision and all-out support of Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) kudos to Mr. Jack Enrile, Mr. Rommel Cabungcal, Ms. Jingky Olisco and Mr. Joseph Li of Icarus Shirts.
PPSA Media Bureau is headed by top media shooter and manager Raoul Esperas and other members/officers: Orly Trinidad, Angelo Almonte, Toto Parina, Carlo Mateo, Walter Bollozos, Ferdie Pajarillo, Dindo Amparo, Raymund Dadpaas, Gerry Baja, Jojo Sadiwa, Gil Bugaoisan and me.
This Level 2 PPSA Sanctioned Match has many plates to hit. I really enjoyed this historic 1st FPJ Cup 2017 organized by Actors Guild of the Philippines (Kapisanan ng mga Artista sa Pelikula at Telebisyon KAAPT) to raise funds for the welfare of people in the Philippine movie industry.
This is a special tribute to ‘Da King’ of Philippine movies, Fernando Poe Jr., who served as the President of the guild from 1984-1987.
I have to prepare more than 200 rounds of ammunition to complete the 7 stages of the competition under Media category with my Glock 22 caliber .40 pistol.
This shooting event is participated by the journo members of the PPSA Media Bureau, to promote sports shooting among media practitioners in the Philippines not only for defense against any threat but primarily to be physically active and maintain a good health.
Luckily, I got the 1st Runner-up Award competing fellow media Shooters in the Standard Division.
Thank you sir Jack Enrile, Mr. Rommel Cabungcal and Jingky Olisco of Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) for the waived registration fee of media shooters and Mr. Joseph Li of Icarus shirts.
