Prophet Elijah was taken by the Chariots of Fire as witnessed by his younger counterpart Elisha and 50 other prophets, who were waiting for them to return.

Though the Bible specifies that it was a whirlwind that took Elijah, it was not clear if the prophet was really lifted up by a chariot.

UFO researchers believe that Elijah was a victim of alien abduction because for them it is against the prophet’s will when he was lifted up to the skies.

2 Kings 6:17 (New International Version)

“17 And Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes so he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

The book of Isaiah, also mentioned about Chariots of Fire

Isaiah 66:15-6 says
“15 See, the LORD is coming with fire, and his chariots are like a whirlwind; he will bring down his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.”

Isaiah 66:14-16
“14 When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes.
15 See, the LORD is coming with fire, and his chariots are like a whirlwind; he will bring down his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For with fire and with his sword the LORD will execute judgment upon all men, and many will be those slain by the LORD.”

“5 With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops, like a crackling fire consuming stubble, like a mighty army drawn up for battle.”
