Filipinos especially devoted Catholics were shocked when a Magnitude 7.2 Earthquake destroyed 22 historic churches in the province of Bohol including the 5 old churches such as Baclayon, Loboc, Loon, Dauis and Loay.

Of course we don’t have to just focus on the damage of the earthquake to the churches but to all in the province of Bohol, Cebu and other nearby places.

What happened to the old churches should not be the first priority of rehabilitation but to the massive effects of the earthquake to the population of Bohol and other provinces.

Considering that many lives have perished , houses were torn apart, bridges collapsed and roads have been heavily damaged by the powerful tremor occured on October 15 2013, 8:12 am.

So far as of this writing, there are at least 161 people died caused by the ‘major earthquake’, 151 in Bohol, 9 in Cebu and 1 in Siquijor.

Local authorities believed there are still a number of people trapped somewhere in the isolated towns of Loon and Maribojoc, which is now the focused of rescue and retrieval operations in Bohol.

I’ve been thinking since the day of the Earthquake what could be the “real message” of the devastation because it is very ‘unusual’ that old churches were simultaneously destroyed by just one catastrophic event.

I don’t really want to especulate about this but it is hard to really believe that in a ‘snap’ these centuries-old churches collapsed and heavily damaged, without discounting the fact that magnitude 7.2 is ‘really powerful.’

But if we try to tap into our inner consciousness, we cannot deny the fact that maybe there’s something subtle about this where ‘old churches’ could be intentionally destroyed by ‘a natural force.’

Some close friends in the metaphysical field say “it is not really subtle but very obvious to understand the real message of the devastation: change the old ways of belief system.”

But I think it doesn’t mean we should change our faith or believe in God or change our religion but maybe we should open our mind to new system of belief that could guide us to our spiritual evolution or ascension of consciousness.

I asked some healers, lecturers and psychics what could be their thoughts about this massive earthquake in Central Visayas. Most of them believe that this devastation which destroyed the old churches could be a very strong message to all of us filipinos to let the old belief system go and let’s embrace a new consciousness.

I respect such comments or reactions in the field of Metaphysics and Spirituality and at least we have the info as basis for us to start our self assessment on how to direct our path. It could be a ‘renewal’ of faith to accept other wisdom and teachings but not really abandoning the foundation of the belief system.

You can be a Catholic like me but open to the teachings and wisdom of other belief systems such as buddhism, hinduism and others. You can also practice some Esoteric activities like meditation, channeling, and other psychic feats but do it in a very rightful way without causing harm to fellow and environment.

It is better to live in unity in faith and spirituality other than creating divisions or separation of belief system that could lead to chaos and destruction.

It is not yet too late to change our consciousness, and then align and connect to our Higher Selves. Namaste.
